斯奈山半岛位于冰岛的西部，也是大家熟知的草帽山所处的半岛。因为这里能够看到冰岛几乎所有的地形地貌，地质多变、风光多样，有高山湖泊、冰川火山、悬崖峭壁、绿地苔原…景色壮丽，变化多端，几乎展现了冰岛所有的地质地貌奇观，被誉为“冰岛缩影”。而图中的雪山即为斯奈山冰盖的最外围，也是《地心游记》一书中，通往地心的入口。
