THE SHARD by Oliver Waldheuer

The Shard, also referred to as the Shard of Glass, Shard London Bridge and formerly London Bridge Tower, is a 95-storey supertall skyscraper, designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano, in Southwark, London, that forms part of the Shard Quarter development. Standing 309.6 metres high, the Shard is the tallest building in the United Kingdom, and the sixth-tallest building in Europe. It replaced Southwark Towers, a 24-storey office block built on the site in 1975.
I took this four minute long exposure, having my tripod on a wall, just about to fall down into Thames – but obviously it didn´t 🙂 After a lot of perspective correction in Photoshop it turned out quite nice and adding lights plus shadows completed my vision. I personally like the London Bridge leading the eye to the Tower complex, having a smooth Thames in the foreground…
