Descent to Rivendell…… 4 Years Later One of the places that have mostly unleashed my imagination is surely this narrow French valley. It’s shape and the vibrant colors remind me a lot of the paintings of the mythic Rivendell of JRR Tolkien. Compared with the Swiss valley of Lauterbrunnen that was the true inspiration for the professor of Oxford this one has something magical, maybe for the absence of touristic infrastructures and villages or because I have a lot of memories… Big thanks to John Howe for inspiration!
