Incoming Tide by Marsel van Oosten

This image was shot on our Where Dragons Roam photo tour in China, and it’s part of a series of four images that was awarded in the One Eyeland Awards earlier this year. This traditional fisherman is paddling slowly with the incoming tide towards his nets. Twenty minutes or so later this was all water. I’ve always liked to include human figures in my landscape images to add a sense of scale and adventure, and in this region where everything looks so graphic it just works extremely well. Shot from quite a distance with my 70-200/2.8. – – – WHERE DRAGONS ROAM
