Last week I went to Breda (Holland) for some forest shooting. Next to the parking lot at the “Mast Forest” there is a small castle called “Castle Bouvigne”. I had already visited this place 2 years ago but in mid winter and the weather conditions were not in my favor back then with a dull grey sky. When I walked to the castle just before sunrise there was some mist over the water and to my surprise there was beautiful dark yellow light coming out of the windows of the castle with awesome reflections in the water. Wow, luck was in my favor this time so I quickly setup my rig, made the composition and *snap* all the lights went out in the castle exactly at the same moment I released the self timer. For a moment I thought I was the victim of candid camera and I hesitated to look behind the trees if there was someone laughing with a remote control to put out the lights. Nah….. just bad luck and after some mumbling I accepted my fate and took some shots of the castle with no lights, shit happens……….. it’s all in the game. Ten minutes later I went to the forest at the other side of the road and had a wonderful forest shooting with great conditions. And to be honest, after looking at the images of the castle back home I was still happy with them and I hope you like them aswell 🙂 Best viewed on black (click image or press “M”)
