This landscape was one of the many highlights of my Alaska trips this summer, which can often featured 5 different heli-in backpacking trips and 2 iceberg kayaking adventures all in the same 15-day outing! This summer brought us epic conditions more often than I find anywhere else, and at one time, we even got about two dozen great weather days in a row. On this day we had everything from a fantastic sunrise to rain moving in shortly thereafter, fog around us in the valleys below. I wanted to make an image that captured that, but since I was assisting my crew at the time get similar shots, I ended up shooting the sky and landscape in multiple exposures at the same place/time and merged them as I thought fit best. I focus stacked the foreground flowers at about f/16 twice manually.
