Enjoying Outdoors by Janne Kahila

Website | Facebook | Instagram I was lucky to witness this absolutely stunning sunset on top of Ryten in Lofoten islands. In northern Norway sunsets last for hours as the sun shines from such a low angle during the summer months, which offers photographers some epic conditions. Needless to say, I was pretty excited to photograph this wonderful area without any rush, just trying to find some fresh angles of this much-photographed place. It took me quite a while to find a decent composition but once a group of Norwegians set up their tent on top of the small rocky plateau, turned on the music and played around against the warm sunset light, I found the missing piece to complete my composition. The scene was massive and my 16mm wide-angle could cover just a small part of it. So I took a panorama of six verticals with a bit of exposure blending to avoid clipping highlights. Lots of other tricks were also done in post-processing but I think this was worth the effort.
