Awakening by William Patino

As winter closes in, Mt Fitzroy is framed by forest and ice on one of my favourite moments in Patagonia as I wandered this entire morning without coming across another soul. Puma footprints outnumbered my own but I wasn’t fortunate enough to sight one. I made my way through forest and snow, across rivers and wet marsh and eventually set up on the edge of a mountain not far from here, enjoying the warmth of morning light and a much needed coffee.
