Because I processed an image of my holidays in France 2015 last week I found – no surprise – another set of 4 verticals that looked promising. I remember me that early morning very well in Sarlat-la-CanĂ©da (the French just call it Sarlat). Because the city was so crowded during day and evening I was hardly able to take some decent shots. I decided to go back at the end of our holidays but as early as possible hoping to avoid the crowd. That morning just after sunrise the place was so beautiful and so quiet. It seemed my plan did work and everyone was still asleep except for the people working in the “boulangerie”. Wandering around this early in the morning felt like stepping right into the Middle Ages with a little imagination. It almost seemed as if time didn’t had any influence at all on the city during the ages. The French are very proud people when it comes to their old castles and buildings and I fully understand why when I looked at the historical monuments all around me. Walking this early through this wonderful old and well preserved city was like a dream. This image was taken on a square in the center of this town that gives an example of the typical beauty. I hope you can taste some of the atmosphere I experienced walking through the streets of this lovely little town in the Dordogne. Best viewing experience on black (click image or press “M”)
