I’ve wanted to capture lightning here at Bombo for many years but with infrequent storms over the past couple of seasons, chasing illusive moments such as this has been rare. Early in the evening mid-autumn, a strong low pressure system brought heavy rain and wind sweeping up the coast. My friend Cameron and I headed straight into the chaos but had to wait for the rainfall to cease before heading down into the Quarry. By this stage the light show was no longer overhead but still made for some memorable moments. The light in the upper part of the frame is from the risen moon illuminating the cloud. I look forward to the next attempt.
