Riffelsee Lake in Zermatt Switzerland is famous for producing an enchanting reflection of the Matterhorn in its high-Alpine waters. Sitting around the highest hotel in Europe the 3100 Kulmhotel Gornergrat with fresh snow falling for most of the day we made our way to the lake for sunset and with a fleeting break in the clouds captured a stunning scene. October is the best time to capture this location if you’re after a winter scene. The funicular still runs after sunset and the hotels are reasonably priced.
