I’ll be working on a huge new release of work these next five or six weeks, including lots more from the best landscape photo locations on the planet (IMO), Alaska and British Columbia. But before I dig into that huge pile of RAW files anymore than I already have I will share some from a very productive 3-week long monsoon trip into the Southwest, including this image, the like of which I have always hoped to have been able to make. The image depicts falling rain and hail catching the late afternoon sun, revealing the beautiful layers that make the great canyon famous. The lightning is a regular part of these storms, nearly every afternoon at times. This fascinating tree sits atop its perch fearlessly gazing over the thousands of feet of cliffs below. So please enjoy before I am forced to digress into photo tour and processing video self promotional stuff 😉 View it in a sufficiently dim environment please.
