Crystal Arch by Marc Adamus

Sorry I have been away for awhile. Simply no time for processing this summer! Earlier in July I went on a held-backpacking route with some friends to a place located deep within British Columbia’s coastal mountains between Vancouver and Alaska. Few of the mountains or lakes had names in this region, but for the time being at least I considered this to be Arch Lake. Adorning the south shore of this water was the remains of the receding glacier spanning the 50ft gap between ice and island! It was truly one of the most spectacular subjects I’ve ever seen in all my years and I made a couple forays out to it via PackRaft to shoot and investigate further, once being nearly capsized by waves from falling ice! On this morning I enjoyed wonderful conditions and managed to shoot a stitched panorama with 14mm vertical images, getting one of the smaller peaks of the region at center. If you look closely you can find fine details like the water dripping from the arch and a series of cascades at the center of the distant peak. Hope you enjoy.
