Weathered Above the Grand by Peter Coskun Nature Photography

While not the most unique image of this place. I always found this tree interesting in the images I had observed from here. I like old gnarled trees, they make excellent subjects on their own. However, this beautiful gnarled tree was standing 3000 feet above the Colorado River and one of the most breathtaking (quite literally if you stand too close to the edge) views of the grand canyon. The sunrise was pretty nice to boot. The clouds in all directions were shades of pink, orange and red. Of course, the very best of the sky was directly above my head and couldn’t quite fit it into any composition. Still, it was a perfect balance of the things I enjoy while out photographing. I honestly couldn’t have asked for better conditions during this outing. I was given the greatest gift a photographer could ask for the night before, and the show in the sky the following morning was quite the encore. If I could just have these conditions happen a little more during my travels that would be great!
