A Conversation by Ted Gore

The sun sets behind Mt. Tom, Basin Mountain, and the Four Gables one winter afternoon in the Eastern Sierra as a lone pine tree, branches outstretched, as if in worship, seemingly engages in a dialogue with it’s provider. The relationship between the tree, the land, the mountain and the sun played out a perfect scene for me, and helped me to transcend the technicalities of composition, and instead, see a story. A story of survival, adaptation, change, and dependance. Interesting how we can find metaphors for our complicated lives in the simplicity of nature, which in turn can make you feel so small and simple lost in the complicated natural world around us.
