One Moment in Monument by Andreas Agazzi

There is a story linked with this image: I will never this morning. It was pretty cold, below freezing point and still dark. Then there was all of a sudden a straying dog just behind me which made me feel a bit unconfortable, but then I realized soon that he was a good boy. I kept walking and so did the dog, always very close to me. After a while I started to speak at him. Very soon I felt like we were together since ever, from this moment on we had a very good time. Then, for some reason the dog ran away as fast as he could. Seconds later I knew why, there were three other straying dogs very fast approaching and started immetiately their chase after him. They all disapeared behind the next bush – I felt pretty helpless and was worried about my new friend. Maybe after a minute or so ‘my’ dog came back without the others and gladly he looked quite ok. But then the other three dogs came back again! The situation became again a bit stressful. I tryed to be as brave as possible and stood with my tripod infront of the ‘bad boys’ and was yelling at them to go away and – they went off! I realized how relieved my new buddy was and from this moment on we were best friends! I knew he did not have a good live and I felt sorry to leave him back after my photo session was done. While I was having breakfast in the resort I saved part of my food for him. Gladly I found him again so he got at least some nice food for a change. This was my last morning in the Monument Valley, I sad goodbye to my friend and left him towards Nevada, with the dog sitting next to me in my mind 🙂
