Technology vs Milky Way by Daniel Llamas

We live at a terrible world. Frenetic rate of our society surrounds us and technology enslaves us. However, only with lift our eyes we could be free, such is the power of the night sky. Punta Nariga at north of Spain, even light pollution sky is incredible. If we add to this the beautiful modern lighthouse, shaped like a ship’s prow, we have a magical place. Night photography is all preparation, one must know what time the moon rises and sets, as will illuminate, that position will be the stars, orientation of target … All this to get composition you have in mind. Although at Nariga is difficult to predict weather, blowing a wind so strong that conditions vary quickly between clear, cloudy and rainy, making panoramic even more hard if possible. That does not mean you have to not go a day and prove a point of view and low milky way, try again another different point of view and milky way across lighthouse lantern … until finally you get it, or not, because surely will return. In this case I search self-portrait, that represent our frenetic pace of life prevents us from enjoying beauty of the universe, even though only necesary power off mobile and look up.
————————————————- Vivimos en un mundo terrible. El frenético ritmo de nuestra sociedad nos aprisiona y la tecnología nos esclaviza. Sin embargo, con solo levantar nuestra mirada podríamos ser libres. Ese es el poder del firmamento … Punta Nariga al Norte de España, aun a pesar de la contaminación lumínica el firmamento es increíble. Si a esto le sumamos el hermoso faro moderno, con forma de proa de barco, tenemos un lugar mágico. En la fotografía nocturna todo es preparación, hay que saber a que hora sale y se pone la luna, cuanto va a iluminar, en que posición van a estar los astros, la orientación del motivo … Todo ello para conseguir la composición que tienes en mente. Aunque en Nariga es difícil predecir la meteorología, sopla un viento tan fuerte que las condiciones varían rápidamente entre despejado, nublado y lluvioso, dificultando aun mas si cabe el realizar una panorámica. Eso no quita que no haya que ir un día y probar un punto de vista y con la vía baja, volver otro y probar otro punto de vista y la vía cruzando la linterna del faro … hasta que al fin lo consigues, o no, porque seguro que volverás. En este caso se buscaba el autoretrato que representa como nuestro frenético ritmo de vida nos impide disfrutar de la belleza del universo, aun a pesar de que llega con levantar la mirada del móvil.
