Just two days before the premiere of Vinyl , HBO's auteur-driven series about the music industry, comes the first trailer for Showtime's rival auteur-driven series about the music industry, Roadies . Roadies was created, written, directed and executive produced by Cameron Crowe, who previously tread similar territory with his classic rock comedy Almost Famous . This is the film director's first TV series, and it follows the lives of a road crew for a band called the Staton-House Band. The hourlong comedy stars Luke Wilson and Carla Gugino, with a supporting cast including Imogen Poots, Keisha Castle-Hughes, and Ron White. It counts J.J. Abrams and Winnie Holzman ( My So-Called Life ) as executive producers. Here's the trailer. Roadies premieres Sunday, June 26th at 10pm on Showtime.
