Follow me on my Facebook page or see my Website for more! With the days so short and lots of other stuff to do, I haven’t had the time to do much photography lately but I’m glad I went out to Lauttasaari in search of some winter scenes a little over week ago. It had been cloudy all day (and the days are short this time of year!) but I was hoping for it to open up as the frozen shoreline looked really nice with the sea still free from ice. Luckily I had a little glimpse of light to get at least one keeper from the trip. Here I wanted to exaggerate the perspective and emphasize the small ice-covered rocks in the foreground so I took a panorama of five vertical images. I used a dark gradual ND to darken up the sky and 6-stop ND to stop down and make a longish exposure of 25 seconds. In post-processing I got a little carried away with the contrast adjustments but I really wanted to give this one some punch and I’m happy with how it turned out.
