The Lone Touareg by Marsel van Oosten

This was shot in the southwest corner of Libya during a four month expedition in the Sahara of northern Africa. I had scouted this particular dune formation two days earlier and decided to return when there was more wind. I had marked the location in my GPS and made sure to be there well before sunset. My touareg guide was very fit, so he didn’t mind when I asked him to go for a little hike 🙂 This image is part of a series called ‘Dwarfed’ that won me First Prize and the overall title International Nature Photographer Of The Year at the International Photography Awards for the second time in a row.
