The Gift by Lizzy Gadd
The Gift by Lizzy Gadd
“Nerves are a gift to you, reminding you that your life is not passing you by. Make friends with the butterflies. Welcome them when they come, revel in them, enjoy them, and if they go away, do whatever it takes to put yourself in a position where they return. Better to have a stomach full of butterflies than to feel like your life is passing you by.” -Rob Bell. Just recently read those words and they’ve been sticking to me like glue this week. If anyone knows me, you know my greatest struggle is overcoming crippling nerves and stomach butterflies every time I put myself in a new situation/meet new people. I try to hide it and not let it stop me, but I’ve always viewed fears as something to conquer up until now… so to embrace them and revel in them is changing my perspective lately. It’s helping me appreciate and be grateful to be alive in every moment. And boy am I grateful to be alive in this moment!

WORKSHOPS
Post Processing Video Tutorials It is hard for me to imagine that I took this image 12 years ago with the Canon 10D and before people were stitching images together much. I just had someone buy it as a 60 inch Lumanchrome HD Print (Nevada Art Printers) and so re processed it starting from Raw. Makes me miss Glacier National Park! 🙂 BTW, “ULTIMATE LIGHTROOM RAW” is now available on my website. The definitive Lightroom Video Tutorial (a full 7.5 hour course) for nature / landscape photographers, if you are interested… Feel free to follow me on my FACEBOOK

Join my upcoming NZ workshop This sunrise was shot over one of my favourite lakes in New Zealand. I’ve been coming here for years yet this visit last month was the first time I had a stunning light display align with the glassy reflection. Almost too caught up in the moment, I returned home with only a handful of images which really failed to do justice to this moment.

Fingal Head
New South Wales Just back from a recent trip to the Gold Coast. As a first timer, it was an amazing area to visit and 4 days was not nearly enough to see everything that we wanted to (theme parks aside!). This shot taken with a Nisi 6 stop environment in a spray heavy area – I’ve got a few short exposures to process from this location to show you the churn passing around this rock formation which is reminiscent of the Giant’s Causweay in Ireland.

France's annual summer solstice music extravaganza — a party it has exported across the globe — will be slightly muted this year amid terror fears and the Euro 2016 football tournament. The Fete de la Musique (Make Music Day) sees citizens throng the streets to enjoy thousands of pop-up concerts — whether a marching band in a garden, a rock group on a corner or a Parisian playing DJ from his apartment window to a crowd below.
