Pretty delighted to be able to announce that this shot has won the British Wildlife Photograph of the Year 2014 award. As it’s pretty much the only wildlife shot I’ve ever taken I was pretty go smacked to win, especially considering the standard of competition, with most of the top pro wildlife photographers entering. If you get chance to check out the travelling exhibition (starting at the Mall galleries in London on Wednesday) or the book which is out today, there is some breathtaking photography in there. I’m pretty honoured to have even got a look in! I’ve uploaded this before but had to delete it when I found out a few months ago, so apologies to those who’ve already seen it.

Dozens arrested at Made in Ame...
(Reuters) – Seven people were arrested on Sunday at the Made in America music festival in downtown Los Angeles, following an opening day that left more than two dozen people in handcuffs, police said. During Sunday's show at Grand Park there were four felony arrests, including one for battery and the rest for possession of narcotics, besides three misdemeanor arrests, including one charge of public drunkenness, the Los Angeles Police Department said. Another 23 people were given alcohol citations, an LAPD police spokeswoman said. So far about 27,000 tickets have been scanned for Sunday's full day of events, including top-billed stars John Mayer and Kanye West later in the evening.

French-Israeli double act Lilly Wood burst into the British singles chart on Sunday, outselling U.S. German DJ Robin Schulz remixed Lilly Wood’s folky track “Prayer in C” for a re-release, propelling it to the top of charts across Europe. “Maps”, the lead single from Maroon 5’s upcoming album, charted in second place to push last week’s number one “Lovers on the Sun” by David Guetta into third spot.
