www.squiver.com Here’s another shot from Deadvlei, Namibia, that I shot many years ago and recently reprocessed. Just after I posted the reworked version of this image here, I got a print request for another. Not surprisingly, the same thing happened: I searched for the file, opened it in Photoshop to resize and sharpen it, but never actually got that far. Upon closer inspection of the file, I noticed some things that I had previously overlooked. They were small details, but enough to make me decide to start again from scratch. I kept the ‘old’ file open in PS as an example, and started working on the original NEF in Lightroom. That’s where I made most of the changes, and then I did the fine tuning in PS. What has changed? I reworked the sky/dense fog, especially where it creeps over the dunes in the background, and I did some work on the blacks to get better definition in there. I also managed to get much more of the original crispness back – not sure how I screwed that up back then. I still like the overall mood and color balance, so I didn’t change much there. Again, this just proves how our skills evolve and so do our taste and vision. I really like this ongoing creative process where no piece is ever truly finished nor perfect. As a matter of fact, each time I’ve reworked an older shot, I want to find myself some more. But that would be unfair to the new and still completely unprocessed images that are eagerly awaiting their moment of glory 🙂 – – – Our Namibia tours usually fill up years in advance, so we decided to add an extra one for 2017 and 2018. Húsárfoss Ófeigsfjörður West Iceland, remote place that not many visit but is bursting with beauty! I was travelling the west fjords last summer, I was staying at camping site in the next fjord to Ófeigsfjörður, the caretaker, an old lady, started to asking me where I was from and what was the purpose of my visit.. I told her that I was travelling to photograph the place and she told me that I needed to check this spot out and she even brought me a book with maps and pictures and this waterfall just stole my eyes.. I had to visit. I was planning on hike-ing to the spot since the road to this place is hardly passable by a regular car, but took the chance on my Toyota Rav and barely made it there with the car in one peace.. 🙂 However spent around 7 hours in the fjord and men .. I am going to visit again for sure.

Prince created a new sound by fusing black American musical styles with white rock, and deeply influenced the current generation of artists, music experts said. The US music icon was found dead, aged 57, at his studio complex outside his home city of Minneapolis on Thursday. Philip Priestley, who made a 2008 documentary comparing the careers of Prince and Michael Jackson, said that growing up in Minneapolis forced Prince to create a new sound, as the Minnesota city was simply "not on the map" for black music.

The intensely private musician, whose hits included “Purple Rain” and “When Doves Cry,” was found dead at his home in suburban Minneapolis on Thursday at the age of 57, shocking millions of fans around the world and prompting glowing tributes by fellow musicians. The local Carver County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances of his death, and Sheriff Jim Olson was due to hold a news conference at 3 p.m. (4 p.m. ET, 2000 GMT).
