Evening light on the giants of the Mont-Blanc range, from the highlands of Carlaveyron in the french Alps.
During this october day, the sky was promissing of some beautiful lights at sunset. As we were waiting for the end of the day, in the silence of the coming night, the last sunrays enlighted the cliffs of west face of La Verte and Les Dru.
Ephemeral moment of photographic and visual euphoria… Chamonix, Alps, France – October 2015 Instagram Facebook Page Website : Ecrins de Lumiere © Xavier Jamonet

still in new zealand, about 1.5 weeks to go, not doing too much shooting as I’ve been busy driving and tired taking some friends from a couple of groups around… here is a customary shot from the wanaka tree submerged up to my hip on a calm morning….

Hurry up and dream by Jay Daley

We had left our tents early in the morning (after our close Puma encounter the night before) and made our way up to Salto Grande for some moonlight waterfall goodness. As the countdown to first light ticked on we started paying a closer attention to the clouds above. They were looking good, like, really good. The night before we had set a fairly straight forward plan, waterfall under moonlight then proceed onto the cascades for sunrise. So – the plan was in motion, our waterfall shot was in the bag and we were on route to the cascades but there was one problem, these clouds – they were just looking really promising. What’s more the wind had completely dropped off. “There’s those lakes further up, you don’t think they would be glassy do you?” That was the question that changed it all. Before we knew it we were eagerly on route looking for a new comp. Breaking the plan is never ideal but sometimes you just need to go with the flow. We arrived at the lake and to our astonishment it was indeed glassy, the mountainous back drop was perfect and… those clouds. But we were missing a foreground. We scurried around the bank looking for some interesting drift wood to position in the frame or perhaps a rock, anything to add some depth to our scene. What we found next was simply breathtaking…

Milky Way over Nugget Point by Jimmy Mcintyre

Image edited using Raya Pro, the Photoshop plugin (www.shutterevolve.com/raya-pro-the-ultimate-digital-blending-workflow-panel-for-photoshop/) I planned this image about 6 months ago, and 45 minutes before the galactic centre was due to be over the lighthouse, the sky was thick with clouds. I didn’t think I’d get the shot. 40 minutes later, the sky was clear in all the right places – I couldn’t believe my luck 🙂

Fishing – Better Than Being In An Office by The Blurred Lens .

www.instagram.com/the_blurred_lens/ Was going through some old photos and stumbled on this one. Forgot about this since it was from one of my California trips. I remember taking a ton of shots since I wanted the sun to line up with the waves. Guys I caught it and never really noticed since I got caught up in other photos. Hope you like it.

Moment of Being by Peter Coskun Nature Photography

Alone at the edge of one of the grandest views in the southwest soaking in the brilliance of the milky way arching over Lake Powell. I’ve had many moments where the immense solitude was so overpowering that you could hear yourself think. This was surely one of those moments. It was truly one of the more spectacular moments I have ever experienced. Not only did I get to enjoy this place by myself, but the fact that this was my view while I slept was even more special. To add on to the scene, comet 252P (I believe) became visible through the long exposures on the camera and appears as a green dot above the milky way on the upper right of the image. Also, this was my first real attempt at a milky way panoramic. This is a six shot panoramic using vertical frames.
