Mount Cook National Park Moving on to the Mount Cook area now!
During the trip, I was thinking that Hooker Lake was one of my bogey locations with clear skies or grey out conditions everytime either Marianne or I have walked up there. It was clear skies again this time but due to the cold night, ice had started forming along the shores which led to some very interesting foreground interest. I used the Laowa 12mm to accentuate the depth of these patterns (in reality they probably extended a couple of metres into the lake at most).

I use several kinds of compositional formats in my landscapes including Butterfly, Classic Left to Right Lead and probably the hardest to find, Yin & Yang. Positioning myself on the rocks for the static righthand Yin in my Yang it was just a matter of time before the right tide and wave formation appeared, never simple to achieve when you’re capturing six frames for a stitched pano. The visual path is the energy of chi in this image of the enigmatic mountain in Iceland. The mountains of Vestrahorn always remind me of Batman with its sharp cliffs surrounded by the famous black sand beach.

Receiving the Nisi S5 filter holder system with cpl (150mm) has truly rejuvenated my long standing love-affair with long exposures. The cpl was adjusted so that it enhanced contrasts in the sky and water reflections. Also used a Nisi 10 stop filter. Tyrifjorden, Norway.
