Visoki Buk is an impressive waterfall near Bilišane, about 15 kilometers from Obravac, in the north of Dalmatia / Croatia. ***** Normally the waterfall is rafted on the Zrmanja River and bypassed on the left bank. A hiking trail ends on the right side of the river above the waterfall. To get to the other side of the river with the best waterfall view, the Zrmanja must be crossed right at the edge of the waterfall. ***** More photos of Croatia can be found at www.gubido.de … ***** I wish you a nice weekend. Many thanks for your kind support! ***** Visoki Buk ist ein beeindruckender Wasserfall in der Nähe von Bilišane, ca. 15 Kilometer von Obravac entfernt, im Norden von Dalmatien/Kroatien. ***** Normalerweise wird der Wasserfall bei rafting Touren auf dem Zrmanja-Fluss angefahren und auf der linken Flußseite umgangen. Ein Wanderweg endet auf der rechten Flußseite oberhalb des Wasserfalls. Secrets Of The Forest by William Patino

Water is a constant in Fiordland, shaping and transforming just about every aspect of the landscape. After the right amount of rain, hidden streams swell and create special scenes just like this. I found this intimate fall one afternoon, when walking the forest and being led by curiosity. The sinking sunlight filtered through the canopy and illuminated sections of the soft mossy greens that clothe all in sight.

Two weeks ago I visited the Netherlands and I had the chance to photograph some of the beautiful Dutch forests. This spot is amongst my favourites from that trip, especially in its autumn suit. It’s located near Twickel Castle, an estate forest which is often referred to as Twente’s Garden of Eden by the locals. For those interested in the technical details, this is a stack photo consisting of two shoots, both taken with Nikon D850 and Nikon 70-200 mm f/2.8 at 140 mm: one shot at 1/3s, f/13 and ISO 100, and the other at 1/5s, f/11 and ISO 64. I’ve decided to stack these two shots for two reasons: to better control the light that was changing very fast and to minimise the motion of the leaves as I was shooting at slow shutter speeds.
