Every summer I take a couple very small groups up to Alaska to do things like camping in places nobody has ever camped, hiking all day long through blue ice caves, cruising up near the face of 10-story high glacial walls in our own boat, kayaking the icebergs and iceberg beaches, exploring new waterfalls in the rainforest, standing stop icefields overlooking patagonian-quality peaks, flying drones and taking over a dozen helicopter flights per trip while enjoying the best aerial glacier photography in the world. The trips are exclusive, unique and like nothing else out there both in diversity of their adventures and in photography. I work with the best in the business (pilots, captains, guides, porters, outfitters) to offer a truly one of a kind two-week long experience that only someone who has spent years of their life here could offer. Alaska is my signature trip for good reason, but only rarely do spots open up. Alaska has been my the heart and soul of my photography for over a decade now. I have done more shooting here than anywhere else and still, to this day, the vast majority of it is untouched. I have never seen another photograph of 99% of the places we shoot on these trips. So please enjoy this one today. You can contact me about this or any one of my unique, world-exclusive trips (many locations and dates across 6 continents are not listed on my site) at marc@marcadamus.com of you’d like to go on a real adventure someday!

The Port of Genoa is the major Italian seaport and it’s in competition with the ports of Marseille and Barcelona to be the biggest of the Mediterranean Sea. With a trade volume of 51.6 million tonnes, it is the busiest port of Italy by cargo tonnage. The Port of Genoa covers an area of about 700 hectares of land and 500 hectares on water, stretching for over 22 kilometres along the coastline, with 47 km of maritime ways and 30 km of operative quays. The quays of the passenger terminals extend over an area of 250 thousand square metres, with 5 equipped berths for cruise vessels and 13 for ferries, for an annual capacity of 4 million ferry passengers, 1.5 million cars and 250,000 trucks. The historical maritime station of Ponte dei Mille is today a technologically advanced cruise terminal, with facilities designed after the world’s most modern airports, in order to ensure fast embarking and disembarking of latest generation ships carrying thousand passengers. A third cruise terminal is currently under construction in the redesigned area of Ponte Parodi, once a quay used for grain traffic. There are two major lighthouses: the historical Lanterna, 76 metres (249 feet) tall, and the small lighthouse of Punta Vagno, at the eastern entrance of the port.
