lighthouse by Ali Mehranjani

By far this is one of my favourite lighthouses at Anglesey, north wales. High tide creates this illusive landscape as if the lighthouse is floating on the water. This was built in 1838 by Trinity House. It guides boats through the passage between Puffin Island and Penmon and marks the north entrance to the Menai Strait. The construction of Trwyn Du was spurred on by a major accident in 1831 when the paddle steamer, Rothesay Castle, sank near Puffin Island.
