Glendalough Monastic Site by Peter Krocka
Glendalough, from the Irish “Gleann da locha”, meaning the Glen of two Lakes, is one of my favorite places. It combines extensive monastic ruins with a stunning natural setting in the Wicklow Mountains. The beauty and tranquility of the lakes and glacial-carved valley no doubt appealed to St Kevin, a hermit monk, who founded the monastic site near the Lower Lake in the 6th Century.

The thin face and large pale eyes of this baby monkey reminded me of this fictional character from the Lord of rings .

Glendalough Lower Lake – Wicklow by Peter Krocka
Glendalough is in the middle of the Wicklow National Park, and offers a great variety of marked trails for walkers of all abilities. The Spinc Trail will take you around the lake and over the cliffs of the Glendalough Valley.

Tuscan Dream by Pedro Quintela
Tuscan Dream by Pedro Quintela
I’m sure that it happened more than once to many of us. We dream with a location to shoot and when we get it in the flesh there’s a huge disappointment. On my last trip to Italy, particularly to Tuscany, I had that fear. Lucky enough March was a great option because I didn’t find a single photographer during an entire week and well the locations looked as beautiful as ever! So if you are considering going there think about doing it at a different time of the year. I didn’t find crowds or even a single photographer during an entire week. Can you imagine it? Well it was my Tuscany dream!
