Sailing at the Harefjord East Greenland by Yannis Pavlis
Memories from the sailing expedition to East Greenland .The rugged land of Scoresby Sound. The scale of wilderness is difficult to comprehend. ‘there’s nothing for miles and miles but miles and miles.” “All true wisdom is only to be found far from the dwellings of man, in great solitudes.” — Knud Rasmussen, Danish-Inuit polar explorer

Still standing by Michael Gimenez Rodriguez de vera
This photo is taken in the Caucasus just before sunset. This is an old medieval fortress. The fort used to play a crucial role in defense of the gorge. The fort high position permitted to defend all kinds of entrance. The frontier goes now to the former kingdom of Alania, today Republic of North Ossetia, Russian Federation. The site is an exception because all around the gorge the territory belongs to Russian Federation and the enter is strictly prohibited. They confiscated the territory after the war and kept it despite critics from UN. The site is guarded by military rangers because they can’t allow anyone to enter Russian territory without risking retaliation for negligence. The photo is actually taken from forbidden territory and I had a tchat with military because of it. He was mad at the beginning but it turned out to be fine and showed me some places I could go (thanks mate!).
