Waiting for Winter by Stian N
Waiting for Winter by Stian N
It’s been a rainy and not so magical winter so far, but it’s gradually looking up! The snow cover isn’t all that thick and fluffy yet, but at least the dawn colors were rich and nice. Didn’t do much to the colors except some basic contrast adjustments really. Thanks for looking, any feedback appreciated.

Bagan is an old city (It is disputed whether Bagan was founded in the 1st or the 9th century) it was the capital of Myanmar till the 13th century.
At it’s golden Age Bagan had roughly 10,000 Buddhist temples, Nowadays the remains of over 2200 temples and pagodas can still be found there thus creating an amazing ancient skyline.

A Oceanside Surprise. by Jeff ...
A Oceanside Surprise. by Jeff Deveau
My father and I grabbed Penny (The Dog) and headed down to Oceanside Beach. The Tide was so strange as it was a low tide and a new moon. It was like being at a lakeside with the occasional boat wake. The water was so still and clear. you could see the sea-life and rocks clearly beneath the surface. Penny (my dog) had a great time romping around in the water and playing in the sand with a stick she found. I setup my Camera, Filters, and Remote and took penny down to the water and ran a set of 7 minute exposures. I didn’t expect much out of this sunset as the clouds were seemingly pretty thick. But it didn’t disappoint and I was able to capture a surprising light show.

Decided to leave my Colorado Plateau comfort zone a couple of weeks ago for another desert experience. I’d always wanted to visit the Racetrack Playa in Death Valley to witness one of nature’s strangest phenomena. A storm passing through the region convinced me to head out there, and I wasn’t disappointed. Had the playa to myself that afternoon and morning, and the crepuscular rays from that evening were a special blessing. Yeah, an empty desert with a touch of magic…..not too far out of my comfort zone after all!
Many thanks to Willie Huang for lighting a fire under my ass, and David Thompson for some generous tips. Special thanks to Sarah Marino & Ron Coscorrosa for their superb ebook titled ‘DESERT PARADISE:
The Landscape Photographer’s Guide To Death Valley National Park’ . Highly recommended!
