It’s hard to believe how powerful and destructive the mother nature could be. Here is an example. A 30 feet tall tree got blown down by the raging wind storm and its huge trunk torn apart by the flood. The tree is now hanging in the valley, waiting to be carried away by another major storm.

The Dolomites are some of the most beautiful and unique mountains in Europe. There are countless jagged soaring peaks, huge buttresses and high plateaus to be enjoyed. Tre Cime di Lavaredo are probably one of the best-known mountain groups in the Alps. Blessed with some of the best conditions for sunset I spent the afternoon capturing these stunning peaks.

Istanbul / Turkey. The Sultan Ahmed Mosque or Sultan Ahmet Mosque (Turkish: Sultan Ahmet Camii) is a historic mosque located in Istanbul, Turkey. A popular tourist site, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque continues to function as a mosque today; men still kneel in prayer on the mosque’s lush red carpet after the call to prayer. The Blue Mosque, as it is popularly known, was constructed between 1609 and 1616 during the rule of Ahmed I. Its Külliye contains Ahmed’s tomb, a madrasah and a hospice. Hand-painted blue tiles adorn the mosque’s interior walls, and at night the mosque is bathed in blue as lights frame the mosque’s five main domes, six minarets and eight secondary domes.[2] It sits next to the Hagia Sophia, another popular tourist site.

A song she heard
Of cold that gathers
Like winter’s tongue
Among the shadows
It rose like blackness
In the sky
That on volcano’s
Vomit rise
A Stone of ruin
From burn to chill
Like black moonrise
Her voice fell still… (Robert Fanney)
