Heaven’s Bay by Herman van den Berge

During our holiday in France 2015 we’ve visited a lot of cozy little villages but there are always some of them you’ll never forget. One of those was Beynac-et-Cazenac, a little village along the Dordogne river. I remember me stepping out of my car looking at this medieval setting and it’s reflection in the river. The sun was fighting it’s way through the thick clouds and managed to lighten up the front side of the mountain from which the city seemed to be carved out like a sculpture. I grabbed my gear, made the composition and while everything was ready I saw a tourists boat cruising right into my compo so I waited a bit longer and seized the moment. Gorgeous Beynac-et-Cazenac, I can still see it in front of me but I remember this place mostly as “Heaven’s Bay” because of it’s beauty. By the way, this image was made out of 3 verticals. That’s the beauty of Tilt-shift lenses, i had a excellent an perspective with less distortion, straight horizon and the rest in focus. I cant wait for next fog season in Dubai, cause i am planing to shoot from different spots & implementing many techniques.
