Totality by Alex Noriega
Totality by Alex Noriega
I was a little skeptical that the eclipse would live up to the hype. But the experience of totality completely exceeded expectations. The speed at which the sun finally flickers out (and back on), the dusky darkness, seeing stars and planets during the day, the cold, the 360 degree sunset color at the horizon, and the wildlife going crazy are all things a photo likely won’t convey. Seeing the sun’s corona bursting out from the ring of light with my bare eyes is possibly the most beautiful thing I’ve witnessed in nature. This image is neither original nor creative, but it’s a memento of an awesome experience with friends.

Total solar eclipse showing corona, and Bailey’s Beads. Very lucky to get this shot. Southeast Nebraska was totally cloud covered today when we visited a friend’s farm. We could not travel far today because we are traveling out of the country tomorrow. When I saw clear sky developing to the west, on my storm radar, we left the Eclipse Party, for a mad dash to the west. We got to an area with high cirrus clouds, 30 minutes before totality, and were able to set up and get some great shots. I quick share with you tonight. More shots coming soon…I need to pack!
