So, Kirkjufell. It’s always a great place to visit, a beautiful spot but it’s difficult to find a new composition, a new idea, a new image in a such photographed location. Here I just tried to find a good balance with all the elements and following the instinct. I hope you enjoy it.
What do you think about photographing well known locations? It’s a highly debated theme among photographers, I’d like to know your opinion on that.

Rock Towers by David Alvarez Velicia

Stunning rock formations of Ribeira da Janela in Madeira, a beach of big rocks presided by these particular islets that seem out of another world and are the result of their volcanic past. I opted for a very long exposure to achieve the fog effect of the foreground rocks, for that I used a Haida 10 stops ND filter and a Nisi 4 stops soft graduated ND filter mounted on a LucrOit filterholder. Impresionantes formaciones rocosas de Ribeira da Janela en Madeira, una playa de grandes rocas presidida por estos particulares islotes que parecen sacados de otro mundo y son fruto de su formación volcánica. En esta ocasión opté por una muy larga exposición para lograr el efecto bruma de las rocas del primer plano, para ello utilicé un filtro ND Haida de 10 pasos y un filtro ND Nisi degradado suave de 4 pasos montados en un portafiltros LucrOit.
