I’ve been following red foxes for quite some years now, as goes for their utterly cute fox babies. And I was lucky enough to witness fox kits in many circumstances and with various behaviours. They sleep a lot (!) and when awake they are VERY busy. They need to master their hunting, fighting, digging and jumping skills before the end of summer and time flies when having fun 😉
Watching baby animals is the best thing in the world. Or at least one of the best things. Every second brings a different scene, so no dull moments with fox cubs. For me, it doesn’t need to be spectacular though. One day, I was lying in the grass, when a very small cub suddenly came walking towards me. Maybe it just didn’t notice me (their eyes aren’t fully developed at this age) or maybe it just hadn’t learned that the human species should be feared yet. NIW: it walked through the high grass so confidently….it really moved me and I hope and wish that the world has proven to be just as kind as this little cub so firmly believed at that very moment….
