This was taken late last summer on Carn mountain. The heart shaped pool of water really caught my attention.

Patagonia landscapes hold layers of yearning and romantic retrospective visions. The peaks bathed in the light of the dawns sunrise and the dance of shadows create an idyllic peacefulness. No matter whether I’m capturing landscapes, seascapes or cityscapes, it’s important to me to use the late afternoon sunlight or those first rays at sunrise to create a sense of wholeness by recognizing all of the direct and indirect light sources. Everything in nature is a reflection in one way or another of everything around it. There is only one day left, always starting over: it is given to us at dawn and taken away from us at dusk.

Before and after comparison – with a lot of processing details. Sup amigos! I am finishing my Vallerhermoso series of photos with my favorite from the trip. You see Roque Cano as the highest top here, and Vallerhermoso below to the left. To be honest I was very unsure if I should take this photo at all as I couldn’t fit the foreground plant in the composition and it seemed the surrounding scenery was way too messy. Golden hour and windy clouds convinced me to go for a long exposure, which also added a vignette that removed some of that plant mess in each lower corner. Funny how something I wasn’t sure if I should capture at all turned out to be a personal favorite of a photo for a long time? Composition wise it is a bit challenging due to centered elements, and I tried to crop it, but the crop removed a sense of wide landscape and what was a very open image felt closed in. I therefore chose to leave it that way and I quite like it as it is an unusual composition for me who maybe is a bit too fond of following the rules. As for processing, well – look at the link above. Cheers.
