Evil’s Embrace by Leonardo Papèra

TUSCANY PHOTO TOURS | ICELAND PHOTO TOURS | LOFOTEN PHOTO TOURS | LAPLAND PHOTO TOURS | INSTAGRAM [ENG] Today I want to come back with a shot made during one of my most recent adventures, in the wild Chilean Patagonia!
Here I was in the Torres del Paine National Park, also known as “the eighth wonder of the world” (for a reason, I add), on a cold autumn morning, just after a beautiful snowfall that had whitened the Cuernos del Paine! The wind had dropped and the very first lights of the day were peeping out, and I was luckily already there; to get to this point you need to hike almost for an hour (very easy trail!).. Can you imagine walking in the night, in total silence, and raise your eyes to see this wonder? It is definitely one of the most vivid memories I have of that trip!
What do you think about coming with me next year to experience these emotions? To visit these amazing places? I have just put online on my website www.leonardopapera.com all dates for the fall / winter season 2018/2019, with departures for Iceland, Lofoten, Lapland.. In case you are interested, contact me for anything directly here, with the contact form on the website or at leo.papera@gmail.com! A visitare questi posti incredibili?

Cathedral Rock by moonlight. Yosemite. by Tanner Wendell Stewart

Cathedral Rock by moonlight. Yosemite. It’s really amazing the amount of light the full moon casts, even under cloud coverage on a dark night. I saw a black bear not long after taking this photo… I heard something running in the water, which may have scared the cuss out of me… Photo settings: 30 seconds, f1.8 ISO 1000.

This image I took at South Kaikoura mainly contrasts the green rock and red sky. Inadvertently it showcases some complimentary colours – do you use colour theory consciously or do you just let nature take care of business?

All That Gliiters by Timothy P...

All That Gliiters by Timothy Poulton

It goes without saying that hiking or (tramping, as it is known locally), is a major highlight of any visit to New Zealand and the Hooker Valley is at the top of the list. Mount Cook is New Zealand’s highest mountain, towering above it’s spiny brethren in the southern alps. Climbing to the top of it is not the sort of thing one tackles as a day jaunt – this is serious mountain climbing country which has been tackled by world famous climbers such Edmund Hillary. However, you can get some epically rewarding day hiking achieved around the base of this mountain, starting from the Mount Cook village. One walk that stands out in this area is the walk to the lake at the foot of one of Mount Cook’s glaciers, a two – three hour return walk that crosses snow covered boulder fields and a number of glacially fed startlingly blue rivers. The walk isn’t particularly tough, other than being potentially slippy due to snow and ice, but the views are absolutely mind blowing, as Mount Cook looms over you, with snow coated mountains all around.
