A lot of people have asked me lately why I shoot self portraits… The short answer: Over the last 10 years, self portraiture has become a therapeutic experience for me. A way I can keep a connection with not just nature, but with my own thoughts and emotions also, which I find easier to delve into when I’m alone (with the exception of Pepper), while hanging out in nature with just my camera. It started as a way to step outside of my comfort zone to raise my own self-confidence and photography skillset, and then it became a way to feel both empowered and humbled at the same time, being able to intertwine myself with my love of the wilderness, documenting the beauty of each moment I’ve been fortunate enough to experience and to remember my stories and feelings with no words necessary. <3

Valley of the Moon by Claudio Spinelli

The Valley of the Moon is positioned in a wide basin carved mainly on different types of clays, surrounded by a region formed by basalts, scoria and gray and black lava, with crags and cliffs of volcanic origin of heights of up to 800 meters.
Given the extreme aridity, the area has almost no vegetation, so the first layer of soil does not have the defense that could be presented by the roots of the plants, stopping erosion caused by wind and torrential rains, so over the course of millennia strange forms have been created, sculpted domes, ravines and columns, in the middle of a wild, desert landscape, where various colors dominate: green, gray, pale beige, through shades of pink, orange, dark brown, to red and crimson. 月亮谷位于一个宽阔的盆地中，主要由不同类型的粘土雕刻而成，周围环绕着由玄武岩，火山灰和灰黑色熔岩组成的区域，火山岩峭壁和悬崖高达800米。
