Wave of light by Daniel Kordan
Wave of light by Daniel Kordan
One more photo from Japan fireflies series. They call them hime hotaru – synchronous fireflies. At this remote location of Kyushu island we saw really crazy amount of them. At a certain moment when your eyes get used to dark ambient light you see the whole forest is blinking synchronously like a Christmas tree! It’s like a big wave of stars going up and down in deep bamboo forest.

This was an experimental shot taken shooting towards the sun on Hen Mountain . The highlights were then darkened and the shadows lightened in post processing to create this surreal effect.

Torre by Claudio Spinelli
Torre by Claudio Spinelli
A mountain like no other. With a height of 3,133 meters in the middle of Patagonia, Cerro Torre is much more than one of the most beautiful and difficult to climb mountains in the world. It is a legendary mountain. Its incomparable slope elevates it to the stormy sky of the southern tip of Argentina – an image that perfectly resembles the tower of the castle of Mordor or the land of evil of the “Lord of the Rings”.
