Molten lava cascades into the sea within the Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, creating a steamy, surreal scene as the island’s coastline is forever altered.

|| BUILDING BRIDGES || by Brun...
|| BUILDING BRIDGES || by Bruno Soares
Faster and faster you have to go, you have to arrive and return. All this while around you, everything happens more and more frantically quick and most of the time simultaneously. You feel tired but you deny it, you have to keep up and continue. You do not even have the calm and desire to look around you to see, to feel. Then you see the bridge you have passed so many times, that you have seen for so long, but today it made you think!
Why we have to go so fast? Why do we have to be everywhere at the same time, and have to be everything, not really being, after all, more than we are supposed to be? Bridges were built to bring people together based on neighbourhood, closeness and friendship.
Then, modern society virtually grew to get people to be virtually reachable so we can keep all this closeness and friendship. Maybe, but the feeling that I have is that in the end it just moved us away and made us focus more and more on ourselves and what we want everyone to think of us… So goes the world these days; with the mind always everywhere but here, where we are physically.
Is this how it has to be? That’s how I saw the bridge one day when I was near mine!
