Survival in the wild for this Chital deer family depends on evolved senses and responsive instincts, especially so, when you are not on top of the food chain. Any unusual noise in the forest is a cause for concern. It could very well be a predator lurking in the shadows. The survival of this little fawn depends on the speed at which you can respond to an adverse contingency. Fight or flight has only one plausible answer for the Chitals. A super alert Chital family I found right at the fringes of the forest !

QUAVERING TIMES by Bruno Soare...
QUAVERING TIMES by Bruno Soares
Suddenly, the weather changed, already in the sleepless night, I felt that a big change was coming. We woke up early and went out to photograph the landscape at dawn, but everything was different. We came out with nothing… Back on the road, I started to feel that the day was going to be really long. Driving a caravan, with the sound of the best music there can be, there we went. And then the alert came. Winds of 120 km / h with gusts of 180 km / h would take over Icelandic territory.
The adventure had just begun. And like that, we travelled more than 300 km / h trying to keep the car in the wind, stopping whenever we had to, and, always respecting the rules, we would then arrive at our destination safely! It was already close to the end of the day that, stopping at the magnificent Oxararfoss, I contemplated something I had not seen before; the waterfall was flying! And there I was, reflecting on how, even though it had to adapt, that magnificent force of nature did not stop spouting its water keeping the river flowing until its mouth! And once again, I realized. It is with resilience and a positive spirit that, even with very quavering times, we manage to continue walking and enjoying our beautiful journey that is life!

Oak tree Bluemlisalp by Roland Vogel
The tree was planted around 1885 above the Bluemlisalp inn at an altitude of 627 meters. The oak stands alone, so that it can grow unhindered and despite its size it is younger than assumed. The mighty trunk with its cracked bark has a circumference of 4.84 meters and a diameter of 1.62 meters.
