Balancing act… by Ofer Levy
This Grey-headed Flying Fox was captured while performing a “belly dipping” which is how they drink. After skimming the water while flying they lick the water absorbed in their fur. This is usually done at dusk and night but on very hot days when the temperature reaches around 40 degrees they drink during the day.

You can’t have a light without a dark by Martin Podt
You can’t have a light without a dark to stick it in… Especially with my autumnal photos, I always try to create a certain mood. A bit of a dark mood. Sometimes processing a photo takes a long time until I’ve finally found the result I was looking for. When I start working on a photo, I never really know where it will end up. I only know the feeling that it should evoke. In that sense, my work flow is mostly trial and error. Sometimes it ends up in nothing. Sometimes I have to process a photo over and over to finally get to something I like. This photo was different. When I started working on this one, I knew exactly what to do with it to create that slight dark mood and happiness at the same time. Just the proper balance between the two… Well, I am not sure whether it also works for you too. So let me know. Follow me on Facebook, if you want.
