The Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (Georgian: სვეტიცხოვლის საკათედრო ტაძარი, svet’icxovlis sak’atedro t’adzari; literally the Cathedral of the Living Pillar) is an Orthodox Christian cathedral located in the historic town of Mtskheta, Georgia, to the northwest of the Georgian capital Tbilisi. A masterpiece of the Early and High Middle Ages, Svetitskhoveli is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It is currently the second largest church building in Georgia, after the Holy Trinity Cathedral.

Finding this Spotted Owlet nest was a challenge. High on the old cashew tree is this hidden circular cranny which the owlets have invaded and made their home. I had to climb an opposing branch to get this vantage view point. Despite all my efforts in making a stealthy and silent approach, they spotted me. The mother conveyed her severe displeasure with this aggressive piercing stare while the little one hid behind peeping. Interesting to note that the pupil dilation of each eye, varies independently depending on the exposure to light. The young one hiding behind her mother has it at f/1.4! With love to all my ever supportive owl fans.🦉 Marion (Hooten), the list begins with your name at the top and your smile is my reward !
