Shoot Me, Breiðamerkursandur, Iceland by Patrick Marson Ong
Sharing an awesome afternoon in one of Iceland’s photogenic location capturing waves and ice. See the couple in the middle? Ha! I know that feeling when you arrive in an awesome place such as this beach and then adrenaline kicks in. Your mind goes berserk, wants to take an epic photo of yourself, standing on top of a giant ice, with waves roaring at the background = Hella cool but damn dangerous!!! I was scared for this couple. One freak wave then it’s going to be an ugly day for them. So whose goin’ to Iceland soon? Don’t miss this place!! Easy to get to, drive south-east via HW1, around 370km-ish from Reykjavik. Turn right towards the beach exactly after the Jokulsarlon Glacial River bridge. Then its boom boom all the way from there. Lol! Cheers!

FacebookThis was such an awesome place for me! I have never been inside of a cave before so I didn’t really know where to start as far as photographing it.. I know that the light was stunning at the time so I did what I could to dial in a few exposures here before the light faded behind the cloud wall.I did learn one thing. Shooting the inside of a cave is insane hard with tons of light shining in LOL. All in all it was an awesome personal experience and I will say one thing.. I felt like I was in real life Skyrim haha. Anyone have any pointers on shooting caves feel free to drop a comment down below. Some technical stuff…Well I shot a few exposures for dynamic range and for focus. I did warp some of the points to accentuate it as the wide angle lens made everything appear much smaller.

This waterfall is probably one of the main reasons that made me head back to Iceland again just few weeks ago and what I can say is that it absolutely didn’t let me down … Seeing and shooting majestic Aldeyjarfoss with its perfect blue pool contrasting with this awesome winter setting was a dream coming true and I’m once again so grateful to this incredible country for that!
