Kangaroo Island This is one of Kangaroo Island’s icons that I’ve not been able to shoot well in the past due to spray. This time round my secret weapon was kimwipes! Still, I ended up having to take off ND filters in the end as the added glass meant double the cleaning between frames for this image. The sea motion was taken with ND filters and the rest of the image taken without. It was a blazing sunset that lit up everywhere around the cave and kind of made me wish I could be in 2 places at once. Processing Instruction 220-foot Elowah Falls is one of the more impressive waterfalls in Oregon’s famous Columbia River Gorge. There are numerous similar-ish compositions to be found in the one small area of the stream with a clear view of the falls, but I haven’t seen this particular arrangement before. An oft-photographed place, to be sure, but since I’m about to head out on a multi-day rainforest backpacking trip with a couple good friends, I’ve got green on my mind. My backlog of images to process from the past six months will have to wait a while longer!

We have all experienced those turning points in our lives. The moments when we make a decision which changes everything. Where we know that right then and there, we are re-defining ourselves and shifting the course of our life. These opportunities often fill us with pangs of inner conflict. One voice beckons us back in to the security of our comfort zone, yet another pulls us forward so powerfully that we simply can’t say no. We can either keep on cruising on the same old track, or we can veer off path and forge our own trail. We can literally re-define our future and write a brand new script for our life. It is in these moments that life calls at you;”So sweetheart, what’s it going to be?”Are you gonna keep playing that same game you always play, or are you going to do something differently? Are going to make a change for the good? I had one of these moments and I’ll have to admit, it scared the hell out of me, yeah I’ve had them before but nothing like this, time to reevaluate my life.

I’m sure most of you have seen shots from this location once before, maybe? But, I always take my clients to this place for at least one sunrise shot. I don’t care if the place is popular or not because each morning it looks different. And, it’s an absolutely beautiful location for sunrises. The morning I took this shot at we had one of the most incredible sunrise/colors than any other days of the workshop. The clouds just glowed orange/red for about 20 minutes, after that it started to rain. That’s the nature of Patagonia. The uncertainty and unpredictability of weather are just few attributes of this land. The water level is kind of low now but I’m sure that is about to change. In fact, towards the end of my workshop it started to rain heavily, and mountains were all covered in snow.
