Last week I was cleaning up my harddisc and saw some older folders with images I had taken in 2014 and 2015. Together with some shots of interesting skies I came up with the idea of combining those images. This is how this image came to life. A total new look of a location I visited before……….

This is a new shot out of my Kromlau session. This shot was just selected for the Semifinal of Natures Best Windland Awards of the Smithonian Institute USA. I send in the raw files and now i am waiting for the results. I took this shot early morning last October in eastern Germany. While shooting some crane migration happened…such an unreal surrounding….no wind …one of these silent moments … the mist on the water and to be on my own was the basis for a mystic atmosphere early in the morning at this cold October day.

Lake Louise thawed incredibly early this year – over a week ago now. That is 16 days earlier than last year, and a month earlier than in 2014!
It’s been amazing to see the ice give way to the iconic blue, and to see Mount Victoria reflected in the lake again.

I waited over three weeks for having this shoot : one day rainde, one day there was too clouds, one day too few. Finally i found the right weather conditions and seeing the clouds being reflected was astoshing :D. I needed a long exposure because there was too much wind that day and a little family of duck swimming around the poles. Hope it’s worth it 🙂
