Would like to introduce them here, too. My favourite models: From left to right:
– Noodles (female, nearly 10 years old, Galgo Español mix, rescued from a kill shelter in Cadiz, Spain – the clown, unintentionally comic, eager, ambitious, with the friendliness of a sighthound and the work ethic of a German shepherd)
– Scout (female, 8 years old, Galgo Español mix, found with her seven siblings next to their dead mother somewhere in a field in Spain – the princess, sensitive, terrifyingly intelligent (thank goodness she doesn’t have thumbs), not a dog person, with the elegance and grace of a sighthound and the confidence in strangers of a Kangal) – Ioli (male, 5 years old, unknown mix – the charmer, one-eyed but not handicapped, always happy, noise sensitive, sweet as sugar)

A Darkness More Than Night by Timothy Poulton

Plateau Hut perched on Mt Cook looks harmless in images and taking up a set of skis or snowboard would be so tempting but the reality is that this place is so dangerous and unforgiving it only takes one bad decision and it’s a matter of life or death. Snow baked by the sun during the day can form a thick ice crust and without snowshoes or crampons will become one of the deadliest slippery dips you’ll ever ride. Weather at this altitude can change in seconds and without the right gear end with you being a permanent feature. The nights I spent at this crazy location are some of the best memories of my life and with avalanches going off all around you and temps getting way below 20 degrees I’ll always have total respect for the lads that built Plateau Hut for us to enjoy. Just a little creative license, blending an evening sky with an earlier foreground. All you LIKES, SHARES and especially your COMMENTS are truly appreciated.
