Golden Gate Bridge taken on a beautiful afternoon with new friends and stunning Californian craft beer at Marshall’s Beach in San Francisco. Interesting fact, The Golden Gate Bridge is the #1 suicide site in the world.

Decided to post something totally different here. No dramatic light, atmosphere or skies in this one. Just trees. Shot this image using a simply processed single exposure at 500mm in SE Idaho last week as the sun was peaking out thorough mostly cloudy skies across the land. Doing a little test now. The last few images I’ve posted were killed by compression here. Both were very simple shots that should have compressed easily but didn’t, but there were several things I needed to rework anyway. Let’s see how the 500px algorithm handles 3.9MP’s of details now…..the verdict? – see for yourself. It’s better than I would have thought, but definitely still smudgy/soft in places. Weird that it seems to do better or at least the same with an image that is 4 times the file size at the same resolution….still, I would say that in the 500px view here you can see about 40-50% fewer details than you can see on my screen uncompressed, quite a significant difference. The details are really my favorite part of this. It would print sharp as can be well over a meter across on paper, I’m sure.

It means hello in Kogi. Thanks a lot to this little boy for this shot !
It has been a very strong and emotional trip to visit this village. Kogi people decide to resist leaving in consumption world, and still leave in perfect harmony with Mother Earth. They have few but leave happy. When they go down to the cities, they only see pollution and destruction and really don’t understand our world. I highly respect their culture, and wish they can buy their land back because civilisation world took a lot in order to cut trees and settle big farms. Also a big dilemma because don’t want also my presence to influence there way of life. From the photos of this trip I printed a kind of album book that I will transmit to the village in a way to thank them. If you like my work feel free to follow me on : INSTAGRAM | FACEBOOK

I had totally forgotten I had edited this image sometime last winter – from January when we had a few weeks of good old fashioned winter with snow and cold. Photoshop tutorials: bit.ly/1TsCtWd and bit.ly/1R44xZm

Summer night at Kirkjufellfoss, waiting for the sun to go down at the best moment. Not the most incredible colors, and anyway, i like to go there in the winter better. Just a simple shot, and a simple place that does not really represent Iceland. I personally think that the most interesting waterfalls of Iceland are those which have no name and are unknown. Hope you’ll like this one, though. 🙂
