I hiked up to this place in Prince Christian Sound without any knowledge of where I got. Deep in the night only northern lights lighted landscape. It took me 1,5 hours to get to the emerald valley beneath jagged mountains. I was amazed by the scenery opened to my eyes: wide river bend lay very calm reflecting South Greenland mountains.

This Bridge Wasn’t Made For Walking.
Variety of one of my most successful motives. Back in 2014 I visited this bridge the first time, back then it was known more or less to some fellow photographers and locals. Since then things have changed. The bridge became an iconic location on instagram and also one of the most popular subjects in Germany. But people started to walk over the bridge. And that’s not a real bridge – as signs at both ends clarify – it’s an art element of the surrounding landscape garden. The statics are not for pedestrians. It’s a shame that people nowadays risk everything for the one shot they want to have, but don’t care about the location afterwards. It’s similiar to the destruction of landmarks in US nationalparks. When I’ve started with landscape photography I thought that my photos could help to rise the awareness towards natural and cultural heritage. But I was wrong. There is a lot of yelling when ISIL terrorists blow up some archaeological sites in Syria. But ignorance starts when people don’t cherish the worth of natural and cultural sights… there was a photo contest with this “bridge” with a cyclist on top of it as winner picture… finally there is a discussion now and police starts to control the bridge.
